In our recruiting capacity, our clients are our employers. We listen carefully to our clients and introduce them to lawyers who meet the clients’ stated criteria as closely as possible. We bring our long experience and deep knowledge of the market to bear in advising clients when a particular search seems out of reach, as well as when there are opportunities (typically at law firms at the partner level) that the client may not yet have considered.
On the candidate side, we view each lawyer considering a new professional home as a unique individual and indispensable resource. Most of the time, we consider it our responsibility to help guide a lawyer seeking a new affiliation into a place that very closely matches the lawyer’s stated objectives. When, on occasion, we believe the candidate’s desires are unrealistic, we try to clearly explain the basis for our opinion, and stay in touch in case the candidate’s goals change. By treating every candidate as a potential future client – holding all confidences and giving unvarnished professional advice – we have guided many lawyers into happier professional lives.
As recruiters, we work with individual lawyers, law firms, and corporate legal departments, including not-for-profit entities, under both retainer and contingency fee arrangements.
